Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so that a runner may read it. For there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end, and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay. Habakkuk 2.2-3

Explaining the process

During the period of Lent (and the Sunday before), Calvin will be sharing our stories with each other. We will use a series of prompts, Scripture, and prayer to remember, re-vision, and re-member (put together anew) an understanding of what our God-given passions as a congregation are and how they can be used faithfully and effectively in God's service.

EVERYONE is invited to join the process, which will be lively, fellowship-oriented, and a chance for you to both walk down memory lane and look forward to Calvin's future.

Each week, you will be given in worship a card with the week's theme, a prayer, and a Scripture (see Tell the Story page). We invite you to engage the text, enjoy your memories, pray with and for the church, and prepare to share your story in at least one of the following ways (see the calendar page for events and regularly meeting small groups - all are welcome!):
* fellowship luncheon
* regularly meeting small group of the church (choirs, Sunday School, youth meetings, Merry Widows group, Men's Prayer Breakfast, or Ruth and Rebecca Circle
* book discussion group
* Theology on Tap group
* posting on this blog (find instructions below on the right)
* meeting privately with our pastor or a member of the vision process team (see the team members' page)
* writing down your story and emailing it (to rsb@fuse.net) or placing it in the folder on the vision display outside the sanctuary.

We also want to give everyone a chance to share any ideas for new (or revived) programs or initiatives at Calvin. You can submit those on the display outside the sanctuary or on the Share your great idea page.
